Esther Mills – Practice Nurse

Esther joined GSC in June 2024. With over 5 years of experience in a private hospital's Endoscopy unit, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice. Her extensive background includes roles in endoscopy, surgical wards, aged care, and administration, reflecting her passion for various aspects of nursing.

Esther ensures our GSC patients receive exceptional care through pre- and post-operative calls and support.

Esther’s warm and professional approach to patient care makes her patients feel as comfortable as possible. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach or park with her wife and two young children, and walking her beloved whippets, Devo & Pickles.

Marianne Espaldon – Practice Nurse

Marianne joined GSC in October 2025. She is a Registered Nurse in both the Philippines and the United States, bringing over five years of experience as a Community Health Nurse. She has extensive experience working with Gastroenterology practices in Australia and the U.S., further strengthening her clinical knowledge and patient coordination skills.

Working alongside the GSC Nursing and Theatre teams, Marianne is committed to providing comprehensive health education to patients pre-and post-procedurally. Together, the nursing team coordinates with the Gastroenterologists to ensure patients receive optimal, compassionate, and well-guided care throughout their treatment journey.

Outside of work, Marianne enjoys spending quality time with her family on their farm. During holidays, they cherish trips to the beach, creating meaningful memories with relatives.

Shannyn Brown – Practice Nurse

Shannyn joined the GSC team in 2026. Shannyn is a Registered Nurse, whose nursing journey began in 2019 with a Diploma of Nursing at Box Hill Institute. An intense orientation into a rewarding industry - she had found her calling! 

Shannyn spent two years as a RUSON with Eastern Health, one year on a medical/surgical ward and the second year assisting in ED. This provided essential experience in patient assessment and hands-on time with patients.

 Since graduating from Federation University in 2024, Shannyn’s goal has been to gather experience and skills. She proudly secured a graduate position at Knox Private Hospital in 2025, and since then has expanded her skills to include phlebotomy and cannulation.

Shannyn was very excited to join the team at GSC where her main focus is being an IBD nurse coordinating the complex procedures to ensure our Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis patients have timely and efficient access to their medications.

In her “down-time” Shannyn is a busy mum, and enjoys the beautiful lifestyle that comes with living in the Yarra Valley.

Ruby Conlan – Registered Nurse

Ruby joined Gastro Specialist Care (GSC) in August 2026 as a Registered Nurse, bringing with her a diverse nursing background across surgical wards, skin cancer nursing and endoscopy nursing.

Ruby is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care and supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey. Her experience in endoscopy has given her a strong understanding of the care and support patients require before, during and after their procedures.

Outside of work, Ruby enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and making the most of time with loved ones.
