ABOUT US

Gastroenterology Specialist Care (GSC) provides professional administrative services to independent Gastroenterologists and their patients. Our admin team and the doctors they support work across the Melbourne Metropolitan area, Gippsland and the Bass Coast. Our business model is unique, and quite different to most medical practices!

Over recent years, GSC has been consistently growing our services to new doctors and locations, as well as expanding our procedural services.

Individually and as a team, we pride ourselves on being accommodating, understanding, and friendly to each other so that we continue to build the practice on the culture and morals we value. We have regular staff social get togethers including an annual charity based event.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced administrator/receptionist to join our team. The role is a hybrid of working from home performing general administration and phone reception duties, and onsite reception at consulting locations, predominantly in the South-Eastern-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. You will be on-site for consulting 2-4 sessions per week and WFH for the balance of the week.

Flexibility to travel to different locations is essential, although we try to minimise travel times as much as possible, with allocated sites for different admin team members. You may be expected to travel to locations such as Cranbourne, Frankston, Patterson Lakes, Berwick, Vermont South, Glen Waverley and other suburbs within your locality.

GSC's operating hours are 8am-6pm weekdays and 9am-1pm Saturday. This role is full-time, and we are flexible to discuss the days/hours worked within GSC's opening hours, provided all on-site consulting sessions are covered.

Duties include general medical administration such as telephone and on-site reception, incoming and outgoing emails/faxes/correspondence, booking and confirming consultation and endoscopy appointments, taking payments, liaising with GP practices, chasing up results etc.

We provide all required office essentials including a laptop, printer/scanner and stationary. We utilise an online phone system and medical software system (Xestro). Our admin team keep in touch via Teams.

ABOUT YOU

You will be experienced in medical reception or a similar role in the medical field. You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills showing support, professionalism and patience at all times. Given the fast-paced nature of our practice, you must be highly organised and able to prioritise to complete tasks and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Strong attention to detail is essential. In addition, excellent computer literacy skills are required as well as a willingness to learn new systems and procedures, as we pride ourselves on being modern and efficient in all processes. You must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

Xestro experience will be highly regarded.

Mandarin or Vietnamese speaking would be a great asset to our practice.

All training is provided and ongoing support thereafter. Whilst training you will need to travel to various locations to undertake training with different members of our admin team.

ESSENTIAL

  • Minimum 1-2 years of medical reception/administration experience required

  • You will need a current driver's licence and access to a reliable car, due to the need to travel from home to on-site during office hours

  • Australian work rights required

Hourly rate will be dependent on experience - $30-33 per hour.
