Business Development Manager

Full Time - Hybrid (WFH & travel to varying locations across Victoria)

 Gastroenterology Specialist Care (GSC) is a young, dynamic and growing private medical practice, providing high-quality administrative support to independent Gastroenterologists.  GSC also provides mobile nursing services under the banner of Gastro Diagnostics.

 With a strong reputation in the healthcare community, GSC provides service to practitioners across multiple locations in Melbourne and surrounds, and we are committed to continued growth and innovation in specialist care delivery.

 With additional practitioners set to join in the next few months and early 2026, and a strong focus on building our Services, we are seeking a motivated and strategic Business Development Manager to lead our expansion efforts, support our practitioners’ success, and build strong relationships across the healthcare landscape.

About the Role:

 Reporting to the Director and working alongside the Practice Management team, lead your own small team to:

  • Drive business growth and build brand awareness for all GSC practitioners and services.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to reach target markets in areas where our doctors consult, and services are delivered.

  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

  • Generate leads via a variety of channels including relationship-building, networking, events, and healthcare industry forums.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, GPs, GP liaison officers (GPLOs), practice managers, hospital CEOs, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with practice management and marketing teams to develop and deliver integrated growth strategies.

  • Prepare performance and financial reports, including practitioner annual reviews, service line revenue analysis, and market insights.

  • Monitor KPIs to assess performance and inform ongoing strategy.

  • Oversee the onboarding of new doctors, ensuring a smooth and professional integration into the GSC group.

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and relevant networking opportunities to promote the practice and identify partnerships.

  • Website updates

  • Promote and expand our business profile through social media and digital marketing, including regular posts and large marketing campaigns.  Develop our fledgling YouTube channel the Gutty Professors.

  • Manage budgets, monitoring BD and Marketing spending and allocate budget with monthly report.

  • Manage your team including GP Liaison Officer, Marketing contractors and Admin support. 

 About You:

You will bring your Business Development/Marketing experience, along with your enthusiasm, brilliant ideas and positive attitude.  You have a collaborative, proactive, and outcomes-driven mindset with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels.  You can manage a team, work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in business development, ideally within the healthcare or medical services sector.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, market analysis, and performance reporting.

  • Strong marketing and communication skills.

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management or a related field.

  • Experience working with or alongside healthcare professionals, hospitals, and specialist services is highly desirable, with knowledge of the private healthcare system a plus.
